There is a part one and a part two of the series concerning the manifestations of darkness.

7. Dream catching

Humans generally are not able to manipulate or create dreams on their own. It is the work of spirits.

Dream catching is the practice of manipulating dreams, often associated with occult science. Those who are able to do it receive teaching and assistance from strange spirits.

While some claim this practice can help dispel bad dreams, it’s important to recognise that any power that eliminates dreams without divine origin is from the dark world.

Anyone who uses this technology is meddling with demons. And when a demon enters a person’s life, it typically causes more harm than good.

If a believer has recurring nightmares, let him seek help from his God, Who is the King of all Spirits – a Mighter Deliverer.

8. Divining

Divining is the ability to capture the future or peep into it. It is an ability enabled by peeping spirits. Spiritual Christians can also divine, but only by the aid of the Holy Spirit. When spirituality is not anchored in Christ, it is of the devil.

The Bible in Acts 16 tells us of a lady who would divine the future, but Apostle Paul cast out the unclean spirit which gave her such ability. This is to say that divining is spirit- aided.

9. Talking and interacting with unseen people

Some can talk and communicate actively with people they cannot see. This is also related to darkness.

10. Sleep talking

Sleep talking does not mean someone is in darkness; rather, it suggests that dark forces are trying to access their life. When people sleep talk, it indicates an interaction with a spirit or demon during sleep.

Our human spirit becomes active during sleep; hence, spiritual forces can engage with it, causing sleep talking. But prayer can help stop their activity.

11. Swimming in Dreams

The case of people who see themselves swimming in the dream is common. However, it indicates that the darker, occult aspects of the water realm are seeking the soul of that individual. Someone who occasionally swims in dreams is slowly being initiated into the marine occult.

12. Witchcraft

I have heard about white witches and their distinction from black witches. In movies, there are often portrayals of good witches. However, it should be known that anyone who is considered a witch has typically undergone initiation and a ritual process. The ability to practice witchcraft is enabled by demons and devils.

13. Necromancy

This is the ability to talk, consult, or interact with the spirits of the dead. King Saul in the Bible consulted a witch in Edom who was also a necromancer. Only the devil’s powers can enable such activity.

14. Animal Twin

This belief is rooted in the traditional cosmology of several ethnic groups in Cameroon and across parts of Central and West Africa. It is also called ‘Alter Ego’ or spiritual double.

Rather than a casual modern “spirit animal,” this is a deeply serious spiritual connection where a person’s soul and physical life are tied directly to a specific wild animal.

In western Cameroon (such as among the Bamiléké or Duala peoples), it is believed that highly initiated men possess the power to shape-shift or project their consciousness into their animal twin. During the night, a man’s human body might be asleep in his bed while his spirit is roaming the forest, hunting or protecting the village in the body of a leopard or elephant.

Believers in Christ must not be part of this culture; neither should they submit to the ritual that enables such manifestation.

Conclusion

The manifestations of darkness in people’s lives are numerous, and it is impossible to account for all of them. Moreover, some experiences are truly unique, such as individuals who find themselves sleeping with snakes in their dreams, engaging in sexual exploration groups during night dreams, or having sexual encounters with ghosts. It is clear that these phenomena are more than mere coincidences; they reveal a deeper presence of darkness at play.

I have written these things to alert Christians and prepare them for the invasion of darkness in these last days. I believe that if Christians understand how darkness manifests itself, they will know when to retreat and seek God for cleansing through the power of Christ Jesus administered when we pray.
